A Whole Week?

Describe your ideal week.

My ideal week starts with no alarm clock. Not because I don’t have anywhere to be, in my ideal world, everyone has agreed that nothing important should happen before 9 a.m.

There’d be slow mornings with coffee, cartoons with Bee, and enough time to actually sit down before I remember the 14 things I was supposed to be doing. I’d bake. A lot. Every loaf would come out tall and beautiful, my starter would cooperate, and I wouldn’t spend six hours staring at a bowl of dough wondering what the fuck it’s doing it why my cinnamon rolls and bagels look like gross body parts.

I’d have time to write when I actually felt like writing. We’d go to the pool. Jeff and I would sneak in a date night. I’d have a couple cocktails without waking up the next morning wondering who authorized the last one. There’d be football. Preferably a Broncos win and a K-State win because this is my imaginary week and I make the rules.

We’d eat good food. Stay up too late. Sleep in. Laugh a lot. I’d get some time to myself, but not so much that I started missing everybody which, annoyingly, I would. I’d make something I’m proud of. A loaf. A post. A memory. Another reel that hits 70k views.

I don’t need seven days on a beach by myself… I would like the beach. I just want a week with all the people I love, all the shit I love doing, and significantly fewer responsibilities.
