If you’ve been here since the beginning, you know this blog has changed about 47 times, buuuuuuuuut….so have I.
When I started writing, I had a toddler attached to me basically 24/7. There were mom stories, potty training, staying home with kids, recipes, sports, marriage, shit I bought on Amazon, shit that pissed me off, and whatever else happened to be going through my head that day. I’m still going to write about those things. I’m still a stay-at-home mom. I still have a husband, kids, a house I attempt to keep together and plenty of weird things to say, but sadly, Bee is growing up. She needs me differently now. She’s becoming more independent, and in the middle of watching that happen, I found something that was mine.
I started baking. Then I started baking more. Then sourdough became an interesting new hobby and I decided I needed another living thing in this house that required feeding. It started as curiosity and turned into a hobby. The hobby turned into me wanting to get better. Then I started making my own recipes, trying new things, filming everything, starting a baking page, selling a few things and wondering if I could actually build something out of this.
So I’m trying a new approach around here. Whining, Wine-ing & Winning isn’t going anywhere. Neither am I. There will still be mom stories. There will still be lifestyle shit. There will still be recipes, random thoughts and whatever else I decide belongs here….but you’re probably going to see a whole lot more breads and bakes.
I’m leaning into baking. I’m learning how to create things I never thought I’d make. I’m learning what works, what doesn’t, and how much equipment one person can convince herself or her husband she needs for a hobby before I stop calling it a hobby. Now I’m trying to build my little Nano Bakery into something. I have no idea how big that something will become. That’s kind of the fun part.
I started this blog because I wanted something of my own while still being home with my kids. Now I’m realizing that “something of my own” might look a little different than I thought it would. It could be writing, or baking, or both depending on my energy that day and if I remembered to feed Garth.
So I hope you’ll stick around while I figure it out even though I know the ones that will. If you want more of me in real life, come follow along on Facebook or TikTok . That’s where you’ll find the bakes, the experiments, the wins, the fuckups, the bloopers and everything that happens between the pretty finished loaf and whatever actually happened in my kitchen. Follow. Share. Send me to your friends. Read the blog. Watch the Reels. Laugh at me when shit goes sideways and celebrate with me when something actually turns out the way it looked in my head.
I’m a stay-at-home mom trying to turn curiosity, flour, a laptop and a shit ton of determination into something that belongs to me. As I mentioned before we have some family things going on that sadly, are not improving. This also explains my absence and the need to keep my mind busy. Life sucks. Things are unfair, and some things shouldn’t happen to the people who don’t deserve it, but it’s all part of a plan no one understands.
So grab some wine, grab some carbs, come see my creations, and as always…wine-d down with me, you guys are amazing! 🫶🏻👩🏼🍳
