It’s been a while, my friends, since I just sat and word-vomited on my keyboard. Lately, it’s been mostly flour and starter jizz on my keyboard without me sharing how things are really going. Spoiler alert…they’ve been going all over the place, just like me and my so-called stay-at-home mom/wife chasing around my little girl with ADHD while I also have the same condition. Just as long as we don’t come across anything shiny, we’re good.
I’ve been trying new things for as long as I can remember. This is the main reason I enjoy cooking so much. I’m the type of person that can go to a restaurant, try a meal I love, know the ingredients by taste, then come home and make it better. Unfortunately, I can’t really do this with sourdough because all I have to work with is flour, water, and salt. Once I can get a great, consistent loaf down, I’ll start experimenting even further with add-ins to make deluxe loaves. When that time comes, I’ll be very eager to share with all of you. Okay, that’s all I have to say about sourdough. On to the next adventure.
Call me crazy, but of course, on top of having the most unpredictable career of my life (stay-at-home mom), I have decided that the blog, the sourdough, the kid, the house, the meals, the keep-ups, and the family crises that come along, I need to add yet another adventure. It may work, it may not, but who knows until you try? If it’s a fail, then it’s a fail, and I am more than okay with that, but I won’t give up on it just like most things I set my mind to.
Since I am home all the time and just have my dogs, my toddler, and my faithful bloggers to vent to, I have decided to take that extra step and become a social media influencer. I don’t have anything in particular to influence anyone, just whatever comes up that day. Could be sourdough, could be making a pizza, could be me making tamales, cookies, or underwater basket weaving. Maybe it’s me showing little life hacks I learned or came across from another influencer. You better believe if I learn something from someone else, I will share how I learned it by sharing their information and the reel I learned from. I will NEVER take someone else’s credit.
I will also be sharing many stories from all of you that have inspired me to keep going on and to keep doing new things. I have my dear friend, Tracie, thesquigglelinecafe.wordpress.com to thank for giving me that push. She’s been inspiring me since I started this blog and will be a shout-out for many future reels in my life. Maybe five people will see them, maybe 5K will. Either way, we’ll see.
Since I have nothing specific to target or influence, I am opening up the comments for name suggestions (for the Facebook page since TikTok is like learning Chinese to me). I’m leaning toward The Influenced Influencer since most of what I learn is off of other influencers, but I need more ideas, so I need all hands on deck here since this will be very important.
Why am I doing this again, you ask? Well, I got rejected from two job interviews as not being qualified, and I refuse to go back to retail or restaurants where I am qualified because I believe in “Work to live, don’t live to work.” This is how I plan to help support my family. I will be selling sourdough, but I want to be sure to give out high-quality breads that I know will satisfy and not let anyone down. I am a perfectionist. Or it’s OCD as my husband says…it’s not. It’s just how I like things to be.
Now back to the real side of shit, not the “reel” side of shit. I mentioned last week I was taking some time off due to some personal things going on. I’m just not quite ready to share all of that yet, and I hope you understand. I do appreciate all of the messages, check-ins, and support. It truly means more than you know. If you have a spare prayer, good vibe, positive thought, or crossed fingers lying around, we’ll gladly take them.
That’s all the catch-up I can handle at this point. Thank you for reading, thank you for listening, thank you for existing. I appreciate you all and my whole little circle of life that’s come with this blog. It’s been one of the best things I’ve ever done, and I’m glad I did it. I am hoping this next step will be just as successful.
Let’s raise a glass, wine-d down to this next adventure, and cheer each other on.
Thank you all! MUCH LOVE!
