Humble Brag…My Sourdough

What’s the most delicious thing you’ve ever eaten?

Ok, it hasn’t actually happened yet, but I’ve done enough shit that if this isn’t the most delicious thing I’ve ever eaten, I’m going to be pretty pissed.

In the last seven days, I’ve: Purchased more flour than any family of four should own. Raised three jars of flour and water with names, personalities, and housing preferences. Joined about… 35,327 Facebook groups. Read enough sourdough blogs to qualify for continuing education credits. Bought a 500-pageish textbook because I decided the internet couldn’t be trusted. Constructed a communal towel tent for my starters because they “seem happier together.”

At this point, I don’t even care if I become good at sourdough. I just need to prove to myself that this level of commitment wasn’t for nothing. So I’m going to humbly brag about my sourdough before I’ve made any sourdough to boost my self esteem.

When I finally pull that first loaf out of the oven, after raising Garth, Wayne, and Cassandra through infancy, puberty, and whatever crisis Garth is having, it better be life-changing. Trust me, you want to follow along and see this shit show for yourselves.

I look forward to your sourdough bread adventure! I have not mastered bread yet, but my focaccia is to-die for, even if it’s gluten-free.
