Whining, Wine-ing & Winning

I feel like I should probably apologize to anyone trying to figure out what kind of blog this is. Some days it’s parenting. Some days it’s recipes. Some days it’s sports. Some days it’s me hiding in a closet while my husband contemplates filing a missing persons report. Lately it’s been sourdough starter updates from a jar of flour and water named Garth. I have no idea what I’m doing. Maybe I’ll become a sourdough stud muffin and start baking beautiful artisan loaves every week. Maybe I’ll accidentally create a science experiment that gains sentience in the back of my refrigerator.

Maybe I’ll land a wine sales job and spend my days talking about cabernets and chardonnays. Maybe six months from now I’ll decide the logical next step is growing my own grapes and opening a winery in my basement.

Maybe I’ll become a gardening expert. Maybe I’ll kill another plant. Maybe I’ll write recipes. Maybe I’ll write about life. Maybe I’ll catch a squirrel… Maybe I’ll write about whatever ridiculous thing happened that day because sometimes those end up being the best stories anyway.

The truth is, this blog has never really had a master plan. It’s just been me showing up, sharing what’s happening in the Pink Palace, and hoping someone out there gets a laugh, learns something, or feels a little less alone, or as random as me…and now I’m 8 posts away from my 200th post after starting this blog in February. I’m supposed you all have stuck around.

Life changes. Interests change. Jobs change. Kids grow. New hobbies appear out of nowhere after weird sourdough dreams. What seems important today might not even make the blog next month.

The only thing I know for sure is that I’ll keep showing up and telling the story…So thank you for sticking around while I figure this shit out.

Whether you’ve been here since the beginning, stumbled across a recipe, came for the sports takes, stayed for the parenting stories, or are invested in the future of Garth the sourdough starter, I appreciate you.

Where this thing goes from here, only time will tell. Based on my track record, it’ll probably be something none of us saw coming.
