At this point in my life, simple pleasures hit harder than any expensive gift or experience ever could.
It’s a hot cup of coffee before my toddler wakes up, or a random sleep until 10 a.m. because it’s overcast and raining outside. A relaxing thunderstorm when I don’t have anywhere to be. Wandering around a clean house knowing that, for once, I actually have my shit together.
Fresh sheets after shaving my legs. Dinner making the whole fam happy and not needing to make chicken nuggets right after I sit down to enjoy it. My daughter’s face while she watches one of her favorite movies or figures something out on her own. Seeing my mom. Sitting on our deck just taking it all in while watching my husband and daughter play yard games.
Sitting down at night after everyone is finally asleep, the house is quiet, and realizing I survived another day of mommin’ without lighting myself on fire.
Simple pleasures.
