How do you use social media?
Since starting this blog, my social media use has gone way down, which honestly isn’t the worst thing. I’ve never really been big on anything outside of Facebook and Snapchat, but now I catch myself opening those apps out of habit more than anything.
Half the time I don’t even care what I’m looking at. I just scroll, realize I’ve been staring at nothing for ten minutes, and close it, or get caught in a reel habit hole.
Now I use social media more like a tool than entertainment. I’ll post my blog stuff, check notifications, maybe respond to people, and then I’m out. Or at least that’s the goal. Some days I’m better at it than others.
What’s weird is I’ve replaced mindless scrolling with… WordPress stats. So instead of wondering what random people are doing, I’m refreshing my own numbers trying to figure out where 4,000 views came from in an hour (which was mind blowing).
I will say this…social media used to just fill time. Now it actually connects to something I’m building, and that makes it feel a lot less pointless.
