Ceviche & Fresh Tortilla Chips

Well my friends, it’s Saturday, which means I don’t have to cook because my husband wants to grill, but since I’m a control freak, I always add my own twist. He’s making fajitas, so I decided to make ceviche and homemade tortilla chips.

Below I added my recipe, plus a quick how to make the best tortilla chips. I hope if you make this, you enjoy it as much as I am because this ceviche is the best one I’ve ever made. I can’t stop eating it, and I’m hoping to have enough room left for fajitas.

First, gather your ingredients:

Also if you soak your shrimp in milk for about 2 hours before you cook it, the fishy taste narrows itself out. Because you can’t get fresh shrimp in Kansas.

✔️ Ingredients

  • ☐ 1 lb shrimp
  • ☐ 1 container NatureSweet tomatoes, diced
  • ☐ 6 jalapeños, diced
  • ☐ 1 small red onion, diced
  • ☐ 1 bunch cilantro, chopped
  • ☐ 1 avocado, diced
  • ☐ Juice of 1 lime
  • ☐ Your go-to spices (don’t be shy 😏)

Don’t be shy on your spices ( I use random things, but use whatever you like. The more spices you use while you sauteed your shrimp, the better flavor your ceviche will have. These are my spices along with a link to find them on Amazon.

The “Special Shit” is it’s own kind of special;. I put this shit on everything. They have a full line of spices. Chicken Shit, Bull Shit, Special Shit, Awe Shit, a dip mix called Dip Shit, ALL KINDS OF SHIT!! All linked here for your convenience.

Be sure to use the shit out of your shit spice and cook your shrimp until done to your liking.

For your chips, I use corn tortilla chips and cut them into fourths, fry in vegetable oil over med-high heat until a golden color and somewhat stiff, I transfer into a paper towel lined bowl, and crack fresh salt over each batch fresh out of the oil so the salt sticks.

There you have it, your guests will feel like you are straight out of the cooking institute of mixology and you’ll be proud of yourself for this amazing snack before the meal. You. Are. Welcome!!

Just a heads up—some of the links I share might be Amazon affiliate links. If you grab something through them, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Basically helps fund my grocery bill and keeps me cooking like this 😅

    I’ve never tasted ceviche!
I wonder if I’d like it? I’m not a big shrimp fan! We call shrimp prawns!
I hope you enjoyed making and eating it!

If you don’t like shrimp might not be your lane. I season it enough you can’t really taste a fishy taste. And I soak it in milk for about 2 hours before I cook it and it really narrows down the fish taste since you can’t get fresh shrimp in Kansas.

Oh, I do like fish, but not big on it, but I do eat some fish, not prawns/shrimp though!
