Grow Up.

Daily writing prompt
When you were five, what did you want to be when you grew up?

When I was five? Fuck if I know.

I was five. I don’t remember what I wanted five minutes ago, let alone almost 30 years ago.

It was probably something crazy—an astronaut, a sailboat captain, maybe even a horse trainer. If I had the imagination I do now (which I’m sure I did), it definitely wasn’t anything realistic.

Honestly… I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up. At five, I just assumed life was going to feel safe. That the people around me were permanent. That love was just… there.

Plans change. People change. Feelings change. Just like they do now.

I’m still waiting to grow up and still don’t know what I want to be… So maybe I’m not 5 yet 😅

That’s why I don’t do it. Oh, I pay bills and make sure I eat and all that, but adulting???? What the actual F is that? Listen to this gen x/peter pan. Do what you need to do, but make sure you are having fun 😁

Not me out here doing the bare minimum to survive and calling it “adulting” 😂 you’re absolutely right though… fun has to stay in the mix or what’s even the point??
