Easter baskets used to be easy… throw in some candy, maybe a stuffed animal, call it a day. Now? We’ve got toddlers, big kids, and fur babies who think they are equal participants in all holidays…because they are.
So here we are—Easter baskets for everyone…Oprah Style.
If I’m making one, I’m making them for the whole crew, maybe even myself.
🐰 For the Kids 🐣
Let’s be honest, they only want candy… but we’re going to pretend we’re responsible parents, and give them some other fun shit too.
👉 Cute Easter basket (because presentation matters more than we admit)
👉 Plastic eggs for hiding (and egg hunts that get a little competitive)
👉 Sidewalk chalk for outside time
👉 Bubbles (fun for the whole family)
👉 Small toys or fidget things that somehow end up everywhere
👉 Easter decorating kits (like the Pals kits—these buy you at least 20 minutes of peace and make you look like you planned an activity)
And yes… candy. Obviously candy.
🐶 For the Fur Babies 🐱
If I don’t make one for the fur babies, they might feel left out.
👉 Easter-themed dog/cat toys (they will not last, but that’s fine)
👉 Dog/cat treats they act like they’ve never had before
👉 A cute bandana because we’ve fully embraced this life
👉 A new ball… even though there are already dozens
Bonus: they don’t care what it looks like, but we do.
🥂 For the Adults
Listen… if I’m making baskets for everyone else, I’m making one for me, one to take to the neighbors house, and one to take to the brunch we were invited to.
👉 A cute basket that makes me feel organized
👉 Fancy chocolate—the kind you don’t share
👉 Mimosa glasses because Easter brunch is basically required
👉 A good book I’ll start with great intentions
👉 Something small and cozy (candles, soft socks, anything that says “give me five minutes”)
Because Easter isn’t just for kids…
It’s also for pretending we’re relaxing while running the whole show.
🥚 Easter Prep Tip (learn from my mistakes)
👉 Don’t forget the vinegar for egg dyeing… because everyone forgets, and then you’re stuck buying the gallon size because the grocery store didn’t prepare either.
You’re welcome.
💡 Real Talk
Easter baskets don’t need to be perfect.
They just need:
- a little fun
- a little effort
- and snacks
And if the dogs end up with the best stuff… I’m not asking questions.
👉 If you need me, I’ll be hiding eggs while being closely supervised by two dogs and one tiny human.
Then…we can all wine-d down later 🍷 😎
Also—if you’re already in Easter mode, I made deviled eggs that did not last in my house.
