Spring-ing

I woke up this morning at 3:47 and somehow decided it was time to be a real adult. I started my day with a typical word prompt word-vomit post and couldn’t shut off. So being the first day of spring, why not go crazy and clean my entire house in full spring cleaning mode.

Each room had its own unique personality—windows needed cleaned, carpets needed cleaned, dust was creepin’, and it all just needed a spring cleaning touch of magic.

So I went for it. I went for it like I got 12 hours of sleep instead of 5, and I went for it like my house was about to be featured on HGTV.

I cleaned the carpets, I cleaned the windows, and I cleaned my heart out while my daughter was being supervised at her Friday let-loose-and-play-with-her-friends daycare.

After admiring my work and not letting feet go on my pretty floors, I realized that life’s a mess. My kids are a mess, everything is a mess. You can clean it up, but there will always be Cheez-It angels… which is okay, because they’re living their best life—even if it makes me cringe and want to put the kids outside with the dogs.

There will be messes, but at least they’re not on top of multiple messes at this point. All it does is show that life lives here… and I’ll wine-d down to that any day.
