My Daughter Found a Kazoo

My daughter discovered one of her toys is actually a kazoo… terrific. But even more impressive, she’s playing her little piano with one hand and tooting away on the kazoo at the same time. So honestly, I’m not even mad about it… even though I am trying to distract her with snacks.

As we wait for March Madness to officially kick off, we’re out here playing our hearts out so maaaaaybe she’ll want a little nap before round one. It should happen… but because I’m manifesting it, it probably won’t. Which is fine, because tomorrow is her daycare day, and as relieving as it is to have a day to myself, I miss her like crazy. To the point where I’ll walk into her playroom to check on her and then remember… it’s Friday. Seems a little unhinged, but when a tiny human takes over your life, they take over your mind too.

She’s starting to get bored with the kazoo now, which is nice. She wants a quick hug, but the front of her shirt is soaked in slobber and Cheez-It dust… after just having a bath and clean clothes. But it’s fine. Play your little heart out while I nerd out for a few minutes.

Today was actually a really successful day. After fighting with WordPress the last few days trying to get my morning prompts to stop taking over my entire blog, I finally figured it out. I added little clickable phrases that redirect readers to what I’m most passionate about writing in the first place—my mommin stuff. I love writing about this adventure and finding other moms out there who get it. I may or may not cyber stalk their pages a little and think… we should be friends. Like, you seem like someone who should be sitting in the corner with me laughing at ourselves while we try to figure this shit out.

So on that note, I invite any other parents currently debating day drinking or pouring another cup of caffeine to join me. I’m deep in the two-berty stage, if anyone can relate and needs a quick “you’re doing great” pat on the back.

Let’s wine-d down together. We’ve got this.
