One day, I was at the grocery store with my daughter, not knowing what version of her attitude I’d get that day, when a lady approached me saying how well behaved she was (it was actually probably the best day of her life attitude-wise), and how I seemed to have everything together.
I LOL’ed so loud in my head I almost snorted.
If she only knew.
If the nice lady at the store could just take my daughter home for one day, one of two things would happen. My daughter would act the way she did at the grocery store for her ALL the time until she came home to me, or she’d be the version that makes me question becoming a mother.
Regardless, hearing a compliment from a random stranger telling me I seemed to have my shit together while I was still in my joggers, a hoodie, and a hat… was the best compliment I can remember having.
