This easy chicken bacon ranch tortellini is a quick, flavor-packed dinner made with simple ingredients and ready in about 30 minutes.
Tonight’s dinner turned into one of those “use what’s in the fridge before it goes bad” situations… and it actually worked.
Chicken, bacon, tortellini—nothing fancy, just a handful of ingredients that ended up coming together really well. It’s got great flavor without being too heavy, which makes it one of those meals you can go back for seconds and not immediately regret it.
I added a homemade Caesar salad on the side (dressing recipe at the end) and served it with some warm bread to round it out. Even the picky toddler ate it, so we’re counting that as a win.

Serves: 4–5
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes

This is one of those meals that looks like more effort than it actually is—and those are always the best ones.
Ingredients:
☐ 20 oz cheese tortellini
☐ 2 large chicken breasts, diced
☐ 8 slices bacon, cooked and chopped
☐ 2–3 cloves garlic, minced
☐ 1 (1 oz) ranch seasoning packet
☐ 2–3 tablespoons olive oil
☐ 1 cup grape tomatoes, quartered
☐ ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
☐ ½ cup reserved pasta water
☐ salt and pepper to taste
☐ 2–3 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions:
☐ Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the tortellini according to package directions.
☐ Before draining the pasta, reserve about ½ cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.
☐ In a large skillet, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove from the pan and set aside, leaving the bacon fat in the skillet.
☐ Add the diced chicken to the skillet and cook over medium heat until golden and cooked through.
☐ Add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, just until fragrant.
☐ Sprinkle in ½–¾ of the ranch seasoning packet (adjust to taste)
☐ Add the tortellini, chopped bacon, grape tomatoes, and parmesan cheese to the skillet.
☐ Pour in ¼–½ cup of the reserved pasta water and toss until the sauce lightly coats the pasta.
☐ Taste and adjust seasoning with more ranch mix, salt, pepper, or parmesan if needed.
☐ Plate the pasta and finish with extra parmesan, bacon pieces, and sliced green onions.

Serving Suggestions
This pasta pairs really well with:
Caesar salad, warm focaccia bread, or roasted vegetables.
Recipe Tips
• Add the garlic toward the end of cooking so it doesn’t burn.
• Reserve the pasta water before draining — the starch helps create a silky sauce.
• Garnish with extra bacon, parmesan, and green onions so the ingredients stand out when serving.
Storage & Leftovers
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
When reheating, add a small splash of water or broth to bring the sauce back to life.
If you make this, let me know—especially if your kid actually eats it, because that’s the real victory here.
