Daily writing prompt: Who is the most confident person you know?
My husband might be the most confident person I know, which makes it feel like a privilege that he chose me — a complete deranged weirdo — to be his wife.
My husband works in sales, which requires a level of confidence I couldn’t fake even if I tried. I’m fine walking up to strangers (I was in the food service industry), but asking a business to buy an $80,000 ad is way different than asking someone what kind of beer and tacos they want.
I’d probably apologize halfway through my pitch and then stare awkwardly into space.
He’s not loud and cocky like some salespeople. He’s calm and confident, which somehow makes his clients feel like they can actually trust this guy to help their business grow.
He also has confidence in me. Enough confidence to support me being a stay-at-home mom and trust that I won’t accidentally light the house on fire while holding down the fort.
At the same time, he’s the steady voice reminding me that I should have more of that confidence myself. The kind that tells me to stop second-guessing everything, try new things, and not let my brain spiral into something completely insane.
Basically… get my shit together and move on.
