Look đź‘€, Something Shiny

Well, as you may have guessed, it was another eventful and interesting day in toddler mom life — or as I like to call it, “This is 40… something.”

My girl was on a whole new level today. I truly wish I had the willpower to wake up and say, “aaaaaand GO,” without any form of caffeine whatsoever.

We started with a friendly “hello,” followed by some whining, which escalated into:

attempting to drink dirty mop water firing up the dogs into full chaos mode running with a butter knife pulling down curtains (because our new game is using them as a swing) clearly stating, “fuck this” and finally… napping on the dog bed

She has officially upgraded to her new Sleep Number mattress — the orthopedic dog bed we grabbed on Amazon.

And this was all before lunch.

Once I finally managed to tame the tiny beast, I sat down for what I thought would be a peaceful moment of relaxation during her glorious 3.5-hour nap.

A nap I fully enjoyed.

A nap I will absolutely regret at bedtime when she unleashes the fury all over again.

I sat down to continue my ongoing battle with Canva, Pinterest, and the endless world of “how-to” tutorials… and then thought:

Why not add TikTok to the fight?

Biting off more than I can chew is apparently my superpower.

After approximately 4,372 Googles, I’m finally starting to get the hang of things. So naturally, I decided to add a few more tricks up my sleeve.

I upgraded my website.

It felt like a big step — but I think I’m ready.

I also joined the Amazon Associates world because I buy all the things that are completely unnecessary… and also completely necessary. Now I can share these joyous wonders with all of you.

You’re welcome. You can thank me later.

At dinner, I filled my husband in on everything — all the research, the chaos of the day, the new ideas. I’m still not sure if he agreed because he loves me… or because he wanted me to stop talking.

Either way, we’re moving forward.

I’m excited for the new adventures this little hobby may bring. I hope to share some laughs, maybe a few tears (not on purpose), and all the ups, downs, tips, tricks, gadgets, and survival tactics that help mothers and fathers feel less alone — or at least drift away into a few minutes of nothingness.

So after a heartfelt, chaotic day and a step into new beginnings…

I wine-d down and can’t wait to see what’s in store for us.

Thank you for joining me on this new journey.
